LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A teenage boy has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old Saturday night.
Investigators said the two were dating.
Shively police said the 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with one count. His identification is not being released because he is a minor.
The victim has been identified as Darnishia Peoples, 17.
Officers went to the 2200 block of Peaslee Road at about 9:20 p.m. on a report of a stabbing. Police found the victim with stab wounds, and she was taken to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:04 p.m.
The preliminary report from the medical examiner's office indicated the Peoples died as a result of multiple sharp force injuries to the body.
The suspect's father said his son is innocent.
