CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — Prince George’s County police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman in Capitol Heights.
Police are looking for 33-year-old Michael Stewart of Upper Marlboro. Police believe he shot and killed his former girlfriend, 25-year-old Brittany McKinley, after fighting with her at the strip club where she worked.
McKinley was found dead inside a vehicle shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday. Another woman was treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound to the hand.
Police say Stewart confronted McKinley at Irving’s Night Club in Capitol Heights, where she worked. He was thrown out by security, and police say he went to her home and waited for her. When the women arrived, police say Stewart opened the door and shot them.
