INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man shot and killed his wife during an argument early Sunday morning in Indianapolis.
Police received three 911 calls relating to the shooting, the first one being an incomplete call.
However, the second call was a woman telling police she had been shot and the third call was the woman’s son who told police his father had shot his mother.
The shooting occurred in the 4700 block of East 30th Street, where police discovered, Tina Daniels, 50, of Indianapolis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and arms.
Indianapolis EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.
Her husband, 62-year-old Kenneth Daniels of Indianapolis was on-scene and was holding a gun, according to police reports.
Daniels was immediately taken into custody and the gun secured was by officers. Later, he provided a statement indicating he shot his wife during an argument, according to reports.
Police also found an unharmed four-year-old child in an upstairs bedroom of the home where the shooting occurred. At this time, police do not know what the relationship of the child is to the victim or the suspect.
Daniels was subsequently arrested and preliminarily charged with murder. The suspect was transported to Marion County Arresting Processing Center where he awaits the filling of formal charges.
Police also found an unharmed four-year-old child in an upstairs bedroom of the home where the shooting occurred.
At this time, police do not know what the relationship of the child is to the victim or the suspect.
Child Protective Services personnel arrived and took the unharmed child into protective custody.
