St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - Residents of a St. Charles Condominium complex were forced out of their homes Sunday morning by police. It happened during a standoff that lasted three hours at the Heatherton Condominium Homes.
Police were called to the complex around 10 a.m. after receiving a call about a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived, they found a woman outside the home and a man barricaded inside. Since the man refused to come out, officers evacuated the complex and called in their tactical team.
Once police entered the home, they found the man dead, from a self- inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers say the man was an employee of the "St. Charles County Department of Corrections."

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
