Police say it happened on the 15,000 block of Clarke Springs near the South Beltway after an argument broke out among the couple as well as the dead victim's brother.
Police say it started as an argument between the boyfriend and girlfriend. The victim's brother tells Eyewitness News his sister's boyfriend was on top of her beating her up when one of their brothers tried to stop the fight. That's when the witness says the brother shot the boyfriend and the woman was somehow shot in the chest and killed.

"My heart is sad automatically for the girls, the family and just for the next levels of life they have to seek. It's just so sad." Neighbor said Raushida Robinson

Authorities say the victim's boyfriend who had been shot in the back was able to walk to about three miles away to a gas station where he was able to call 9-1-1. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he is recovering.

Right now, it's still unclear who shot the victim. The victim hasn't been identified.

Investigators have recovered a gun from the scene. Police are calling the boyfriend a person of interest in this case.
