Philadelphia police say a North Philadelphia man told them that he had stabbed and killed his girlfriend in their home early Saturday. Police did not release their names, pending family notification.
The man turned himself in to 25th District officers shortly before 2 p.m. and said he had killed his girlfriend, 24, about 4:30 a.m. during an argument, Sgt. Tim Cooney said. Philadelphia fire and medic officials then went to the residence, in the 2000 block of Palethorp Street, and found the victim in a second-floor bedroom.
Children also lived in the house, but police could not say how many or give their ages.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
