Pensacola, FL: Man shoots woman, turns gun on himself in Pensacola apartments

A murder and attempted suicide at a West Pensacola apartment complex left a woman dead and a man in critical condition Sunday.

About 9:33 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance involving gunfire at Hunters Pointe Apartments on U.S. 98 near Fairfield Drive.

Investigators said Teva Davon Bradley, 33, of Pensacola shot and killed his 27-year-old girlfriend, Rodeshia Norris, during an argument, and then shot himself in the head.

Norris was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said. Bradley was taken to Baptist Hospital and was listed in critical condition at 4 p.m. Sunday.

At 8 p.m., Bradley no longer was listed on patient rolls. A Sheriff's Office spokesman declined to release any additional information.

Witnesses said Bradley shot at the female victim and chased her across the parking lot into a neighbor's apartment after the couple got into an argument Sunday morning.

The neighbors fled the apartment and later told deputies they heard several gunshots inside as they ran away.

Arriving deputies were unable to contact the shooter or victim inside the apartment. The SWAT team responded and entered the unit about 11 a.m., finding the woman dead and Bradley wounded.

The initial investigation found that Bradley killed the woman before shooting himself, deputies said.

Bradley previously had been charged with numerous crimes in Escambia County:

» Robbery and aggravated battery in 1995, sentenced to six years in state prison.

» Multiple drug charges from 2000 to 2003.

» Escape in 2006, sentenced to three years in state prison.
