Witness Says Woman Killed Dog Because It Bit Her Son, Deputies Report

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said a woman broke into her in-laws' house and beat their dog to death with a bat.
According to the arrest report, a witness told deputies that Evita Williams told her she broke into her husbands' parents' home in Longwood on Thursday, unscrewed the lock on the door to the master bedroom and took their 14-year-old dog named Ginger.
Deputies said the witness told them Williams said she took the dog into the back yard, placed a blanket over her head, and beat her with a baseball bat. Once the dog was dead, she wrapped her body in a blanket and dumped her body in the garbage, deputies said the witness told them.
Williams told the witness that she beat the dog to death because it had bit her 4-year-old son, deputies said.
Williams' father in-law, Daniel Williams, called Evita Williams' husband, Richard Williams, on Saturday to ask about the dog.
"She (Evita Williams) told you what she was going to do. She's (Ginger) just an animal. This is ridiculous. It's just an animal. Pay your money, or don't. All Evita wants is money and that's it," Richard Williams said during the call, deputies said.
Evita Williams is being held on $2,200 bond on burglary, animal cruelty and larceny charges. Her husband, Richard Williams, was arrested on unrelated charges that he pawned a television stolen from his parents' home.
