The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, and the Licking County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of resources from the State Fire Marshal's Office are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred on Ohio 586 south of Purity Road in southeast Knox County.
The initial report of the incident came in to the Knox County Sheriff's Office 911 line at 10:27 p.m. Sturday
The Delaware Dispatch Center of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, responsible for Knox County Patrol Dispatch, was contacted and started its response at 10:30 p.m.
The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Ohio 586 and went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Both occupants of the vehicle had been shot.
The driver of the vehicle, who was deceased, has been identified as Lilly Dawn Pressley-Claggett, 35, of St. Louisville, Ohio.
The passenger of the vehicle, who was transported by helicopter to The Ohio State University Medical Center and remains in critical condition at this time, has been identified as Jesse Bernard Collins, 30, of Frazeysburg, Ohio.
The investigation is continuing, but at this time this incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute and a weapon was recovered at the scene.
