A 37-year-old Chester County woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head this morning after an apparent murder-suicide attempt by her estranged husband, police said.
West Goshen Township officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Steward Lane at 5:34 a.m. There, they found Mary Takacs bleeding from a head wound. Her estranged husband, Michael Takacs, 53, was lying on the kitchen floor and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Mary Takacs was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
