A Kansas City man is charged with killing his estranged girlfriend, her cousin and her cousin's wife during a rampage Friday night.
Jackson County prosecutors say 46-year-old Derek Hubbard was charged Monday with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, robbery and three counts of armed criminal action.
He's accused of killing his girlfriend, Stephanie Brown, who refused his demand to leave an apartment with him on Friday. He then allegedly shot Brown's cousin, Anthony C. Richardson, who was trying to protect Brown, and Richardson's wife, Mary Richardson.
Mary Richardson's teenage son and another witness escaped.
Hubbard fled in Brown's car before surrendering to police Sunday at police headquarters.
Court records do not indicate that Hubbard has an attorney.
