A Fort Bend County man is being held in connection with his wife's stabbing death at their home late Saturday, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the home in the 14000 block of Hubenak Road, just southwest of Needville, about 7:30 p.m. to find the victim in front of the home with multiple stab wounds, investigators said. She died at the scene.
The victim's husband, Sherman Jones, 50, who also sustained stab wounds, was treated at Oakbend Medical Center and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail, where he remained Sunday, said Bob Haenel, spokesman at the sheriff's office. He has been charged with murder.
Jones' wife, Saffaria Kay Jones, 30, was found lying on the lawn in front of the home with stab wounds. She died at the scene.
One of the Joneses' sons ran to a neighbor's home, telling them his mother was being assaulted and to call for help. Four children, age ranges from 6 to 11, were present in the house during the incident, according to police.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
