Wichita, KS: Wichita man stabbed to death while trying to stop a domestic dispute on New Year's Day

WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita man died after being stabbed when he tried to break up a domestic dispute.

Police say 30-year-old Bradley J. Wellbrock tried to step in when he saw a man and woman arguing Sunday on a Wichita street.

When the man turned on Wellbrock, more than a half-dozen of the suspect's friends became involved. Police say Wellbrock was stabbed sometime during a fight between him, his friend and a group of eight to 10 acquaintances of the man Wellbrock confronted.

.Wellbrock, known as B.J., was pronounced dead later at Via Christi Hospital.

The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/z502bW) a 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home. No other arrests in the case are anticipated.
