Sacramento police have arrested a woman on suspicion of killing her husband and then claiming the couple had been carjacked.
Police have booked Shajia Ayobi into jail and charged her with murder. On Dec. 18., Ghulam Ayobi was found dead with a bullet to the head in his minivan. Shajia was driving and was not hurt.
At the time, Shajia told investigators when the couple came out to their car along San Juan Road, there were two suspects hiding in the backseat. She said when her husband went to hand over his wallet, the suspects shot him in the head, and then ordered her to drive along Interstate 80.
She told investigators the suspects then made her pull over near Norwood Avenue and the suspects jumped out and took off, according to Fox 40.
Authorities have not listed a motive for the killing. But they asking that anyone with information about the killing call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357 or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
