NATCHEZ, Miss. — Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield says a 45-year-old man, who was arrested Jan. 8 for murder, died in the county jail of apparent natural causes.
Mayfield tells The Natchez Democrat (http://bit.ly/xO9b3F ) Frederick Fleming had been on suicide watch since his arrest in the shooting death of his wife, 46-year-old Eveyette Fleming.
Mayfield says jailers found Fleming without a pulse in his cell at 3:04 p.m. Thursday with no apparent signs of trauma.

Mayfield said Fleming appeared to have died from a heart attack but he could not be sure.
Fleming's body was transported to Jackson Thursday for a state-ordered autopsy.
