A St. Martinville teen and her unborn child are dead after a domestic dispute led to a shooting Wednesday.
According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, Hannah Parker, 19, who was seven-months pregnant, suffered a fatal gunshot wound after she was involved in an argument with her fiancĂ©.
Police said around 4 p.m. Wednesday deputies responded to a call off of Our Lady of the Lake Road regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies said discovered Parker had been fatally shot.
The suspect, and fiancé of the victim, was identified as Joshua McKeel, 21, also of St. Martinville. He was immediately taken into custody at the scene without incident, and he stands charged of second-degree murder and first-degree feticide.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. The incident remains under investigation, and deputies said there is no further information available at this time.
