INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested early Thursday morning in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend late Wednesday night.
Indianapolis police said Challie Gray, 53, of Indianapolis, shot his girlfriend, Regina Roska, 41, multiple times at her home in the 400 block of North Rybolt Avenue about 11 p.m.
Roska was taken to Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and observed (Gray) flee the scene on foot," said Anthony Schneider, Indianapolis police public information officer. "Uniformed officers located Challie Gray later in the night in the 600 block of North Lynhurst Drive."
Gray was being held Thursday on a preliminary charge of murder.
Information about what led to the shooting wasn't immediately released.
