A Rancho Palos Verdes man who died in a domestic dispute with his wife appears to have suffered a self-inflicted stab wound, authorities said Wednesday.
John Luis Deprizzo, 40, was found dead in his home on the 5900 block of Flambeau Road early Tuesday morning. Lomita deputies responded to a domestic dispute call from a female resident.
The caller was the wife of the deceased, according to a statement by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
When deputies arrived, Deprizzo was found with stab wounds. A butcher knife and handgun were found inside the home. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
The wife was taken to the hospital and treated for head trauma. Two small children, ages 4 and 7, were taken into protective custody.
Deputies are investigating the circumstance surrounding the death.
