NAPOLEON — A Napoleon man charged with killing his fiancee is being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in lieu of $2 million bond.
Michael Peddicord, 22, of 555 W. Main St., was arraigned by video in Napoleon Municipal Court Tuesday morning on one count of aggravated murder.
Court records indicate Mr. Peddicord — if he is able to post bond — is to be monitored by global positional software and must surrender all passports. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Jan. 26 at 3:15 p.m.
Mr. Peddicord reportedly called Napoleon police at about 11:57 a.m. Monday to report that his fiancee, Kaitlyn Nagle, 19, was dead. Police found the young woman dead of multiple apparent stab wounds in a bedroom at the West Main address.
The Lucas County Coroner’s Office was scheduled to perform an autopsy Tuesday. Results of that autopsy were unavailable.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
