Tuscaloosa, AL: Man pleads guilty to killing man and trying to kill ex-girlfriend in Tuscaloosa County

A Tuscaloosa man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to charges that he killed a man and tried to kill his ex-girlfriend in 2006, The Tuscaloosa News reports.

Greg Smith, 41, pleaded guilty to charges that he murdered Warren Jones, 44, and tried to kill his ex-girlfriend Sydney Nichols, the newspaper reports. The shooting happened at the Bear Creek Trailer Park in June 2006.
