Police are looking for the boyfriend of a woman found dead in her North Houston apartment late Saturday night, apparently from strangulation.
Friends of 51-year-old Renee Longoria were worried after they hadn't heard from her in over a day, so they called police. Around 11 p.m., officers went to Longoria's apartment on West 27th and found her dead inside. The cause of death is still pending verification by the medical examiner, but police said Sunday that her injuries point to strangulation.
Longoria's live-in boyfriend, William Robert Stone, was not at home, nor was the car the couple recently bought together: a tan 1988 Oldsmobile, possibly bearing the Texas license plate V03-TJX. Police are not calling Stone a suspect, but say they want to talk to him, and to make sure he's OK.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Houston Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
