Bentonville Police Chief James Allen says human bones have been found near the Garfield home of the ex-husband and son of a missing Bentonville woman.
Christina Bishop and her mother Louise went missing last June. Tuesday morning authorities executed a search warrant at the house of John Johansen, Christina's ex-husband. Police searched the home on Sugar Creek Rd. and a six mile area surrounding the house. Police confirm the bones are human, however they are not saying whether or not they are Christina or Louise. But personal effects from the women were also found near a creek on the property.
Johansen lives in the home with their son, Nicholas who was arrested in connection with the crime and released in November.
Chief Allen tells 5NEWS that an anonymous tipster told police that an inmate in the Benton County Jail may be connected to the women's disappearance. The inmate was questioned and allowed to lead police to the spot on the property where the human remains were found.
So far, no arrests have been confirmed. Authorities are awaiting another search warrant to expand their search of the area.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
