MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A Memphis firefighter has been charged in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of the hospital where she worked as a nurse.
Memphis Police officer Karen Rudolph says 34-year-old Frank Graham III was arrested and charged on Sunday with first degree murder and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
Rudolph says Graham approached 35-year-old Taffi Crawford in the rear parking lot of Delta Medical Center on Friday morning, then shot her. Rudolph says Graham and Crawford appear to have been fighting in the time leading up to the shooting.
Graham was being held in the Shelby County jail. Jail records did not list an attorney.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
