Officials have released the names of the two people killed in a Thursday morning domestic dispute, including a man who was killed by officers responding to the scene.
Lynn Carlisle, 68, was found dead at her residence on Cherry Hills Drive at approximately 10:15 a.m. Officers who responded to a 911 call Carlisle had made entered the residence and encountered Carlisle's ex-husband, Craig Jarvis, 64, who fired a gun at the officers. The officers returned fire, striking him multiple times. Jarvis was transported to Georgia Health Science University where he was pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Jarvis died from multiple gun shot wounds. He died while under going surgery. Circumstances of this fatal shooting incident are being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
