A 26-year-old Page woman was strangled to death at about 11:30 p.m. last night in her apartment on Grandview Street.
Her boyfriend, with whom she has two children, told Page police that he thought he had killed her following an argument, according to officials.
Reben Pahi, 33, has been arrested on second degree homicide charges and is currently being held in the Coconino County jail in Page.
"He advised the officers that his girlfriend was not breathing and thought that she was dead because he had strangled her," said Lt. Rick Larsen of the Page Police Department.
Maggie Bizardie was found in a bedroom and both police and medics with the Page Fire Department attempted to resuscitate her.
Rescue efforts were continued by the Page Hospital and the Flagstaff Medical Center, but she was ultimately pronounced dead at about 8:35 a.m. in Flagstaff.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing, but it’s thought the altercation might have started over finances and family issues.
