Police have arrested a 43-year-old woman who they say stabbed her boyfriend to death after an alcohol-fueled fight in Bountiful.
Bountiful Police Lt. Sol Olberg says officers found 52-year-old Michael Dunn with a stab wound when they responded to the Summer Garden Townhomes at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Medical crews tried to treat Dunn, but he died on the scene.
Police say that his girlfriend, Shannon Sander, told them she stabbed Dunn with a kitchen knife following an argument that lasted most of the day. Officials say she later ran to a neighbor's residence and asked him to call 911.
Sander was arrested and booked early Wednesday for investigation of murder. It was not immediately clear whether she has an attorney.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
