An Arlington man was convicted of murder Thursday in the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
A Tarrant County jury deliberated two days before convicting Henry Hernandez, 27, in Criminal District Court #1.
Hernandez was charged with killing Said Mohamad, 38, during a fight in February 2011 at the girlfriend's apartment in the 6000 block of Altersgate Lane in Arlington.

There is an alarming trend of abusers harming family and friends of their victims which underscores the dangers of domestic violence. This incident further illustrates the "If I can't have you, no one can" mentality of batterers. It also demonstrates that women DO leave and that leaving doesn't end the abuser's quest to harm his victim. That's why shelters like those operated by SafeHaven of Tarrant County are so important.
