SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (AP) — An Eagle County grand jury has indicted a Silverthorne man in the death of his wife, whose strangled body was found in the Blue River near her home in November.
The grand jury issued an indictment Wednesday accusing Dale Bruner of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of tampering with physical evidence. He was being held on a $50,000 bond.
Bruner's attorney, Robert Bernhardt, said he hadn't seen the indictment Wednesday evening and had no immediate comment.
Bruner had reported his wife, Stephanie Roller Bruner, missing on Nov. 23. Her body was found three days later. Prosecutors say preliminary autopsy results showed strangulation, blunt force trauma and drowning were contributing factors in her death.
