The fatal stabbing of a 46-year-old female Albertson's clerk on Sunday has resulted in the woman's death and her suspected husband's arrest.
After suffering more than 20 stabs to her head, neck and upper body, the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. She died of her wounds on Monday, reports L.A. Now. The victim's name has not been released.
Her husband, Kelvin Green, 52, was arrested on Monday. Investigators have identified him as the prime suspect in his wife's murder.
Witnesses told investigators that a man approached the woman at the Santa Monica store and began conversing with her around 3:30pm on Sunday.
"He approached her, whispered something and then jumped on her," said Sgt. Richard Lewis.
Green is currently being questioned by authorities.
