Virginia police have allegedly arrested a man in connection with the death of his wife and her 3 children. John Moses Ragin, 36, is allegedly accused of killing his wife Crystal Ragin, 32, and her children: 15-year-old Sierra, 10-year-old Rasheed and 6-year-old Lakwan.
Police were called on Friday to the family’s home, after reports of a fire. They found the four bodies, all of which had allegedly suffered knife wounds. Autopsies are scheduled for this week to determine whether they were killed by the knife wounds or by exposure to the fire.
John Ragin and his 5-year-old child (by Crystal) were reportedly missing from the house. The child was found to be safe with relatives. John Ragin turned out to be in South Carolina. Police say that they are still not sure when the four victims were killed.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
