WESTFIELD – A 51-year-old Northridge Road man has been charged with murder in the Wednesday night death of his 51-year-old girlfriend.
Lt. Hipolito Nunez said police were summoned to 30 Northridge Road by the suspect, James Kenyon.
“He stated he needed the police because he killed his girlfriend,” Nunez said.
Police, arriving at the home, found Kenyon sitting on the front steps. They found the victim, Alice Connors, on the living room floor, unresponsive, with a belt around her neck, Nunez said.
Kenyon is slated to be arraigned Thursday morning in District Court.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
