A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?

San Bernardino, CA: Slain woman's boyfriend nabbed on bus with baby
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Police said a woman was found dead Wednesday in her San Bernardino home, and a man believed to be her boyfriend was caught on a city bus with the couple's baby boy.
Residents alerted San Bernardino City school police of a disturbance at a home on the 24000 block of Monterey Street, near Monterey Elementary School, just after 2:15 p.m. When officers entered the home, they discovered the body of a woman in her early 20s.
Residents told police they saw a man, believed to be the woman's boyfriend, flee the home and get onto a city transit bus. Police tracked down the bus and conducted a traffic stop at 4th Street and Waterman Avenue, not far from the home. Officers boarded the bus and found the suspect with a 1-year-old boy.
The suspect, 23-year-old Kim Davis, was taken into custody without incident and was being questioned by homicide detectives.
Police said the boy is the biological child of the suspect and the victim. He was not injured during the incident.
Police were trying to locate other family members to turn the boy over to, but if they can't find anyone he will be taken to Child Protective Services.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Detective Mike Smith or Sergeant Doug Hubbard at Sheriff's Department Homicide at (909) 387-3589.
