A man and woman were found dead in Covington Wednesday night after an apparent murder-suicide, police said.
The incident happened at 720 Long just after 7 p.m., police said.
“It looked like it was a domestic that got out of hand,” Covington Police Chief Bennie Carver said.
Carver said the man and woman were in a common-law marriage.
Police believe the man shot the woman, then turned the gun on himself.
Names and ages of the victims were not being released late Wednesday.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
