ALPENA — An Alpena woman was jailed today in the death of her estranged husband whose remains were found nearly two years ago.
State police from the Alpena Post arrested Lori A. Grotto on an open charge of murder.
She is being held without bond in the Alpena County Jail.
If convicted, Grotto could spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Authorities discovered the torso of Gerald R. Holmes on April 6, 2008, in the Thunder Bay River. The 47-year-old man had been missing since September 2007, records show.
Police released no additional details.
