MONROVIA, Calif.—A man who allegedly strangled his girlfriend to death in a car then drove the body to the Monrovia police station to surrender is behind bars.
Authorities say 28-year-old Guillermo Marinero was arrested Saturday after he showed officers the body of Theresa Cardoza, also 28.
Investigators say the couple was apparently involved in a domestic dispute.
Marinero was booked on suspicion of murder and held in lieu of $1 million bail.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Alhambra Municipal Court on Tuesday.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
