ALBERT LEA, Minn. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted an Albert Lea man in the murder of his former girlfriend.
Thirty-7-year-old Chad Jamie Gulbertson faces five charges, including first-degree, premeditated murder.
Thirty-8-year-old Jody Lee Morrow was found dead inside her trailer in Albert Lea last June. A Freeborn County medical examiner's report says her death was caused by hammer blows to the head.
Police reports say Gulbertson walked into the Law Enforcement Center in the county courthouse with a family member and told an officer he thought he killed his ex-girlfriend.
The grand jury indictment Monday replaces second-degree and third-degree murder charges filed earlier by the Freeborn County Attorney's Office.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
