ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -- A man who stabbed his pregnant girlfriend 25 times was sentenced to life in prison Thursday.
Christopher Ellis
Christopher Ellis was convicted this week of murder in the October 2006 deaths of Erica Olson and her unborn child. Olson's daughter, who was 7 at the time, was in the home and awoke to her mother's screams. She testified against Ellis during his trial.
When police arrived at the home, Olson's daughter said she had seen Ellis stab himself after he killed her mother. He was treated for a stab wound in his stomach.
Ellis was the only defense witness. He claimed that Olson had attacked him while he slept in a recliner because he was cheating on her.
He will not be eligible for parole.
