DE SOTO, Mo. (AP) — Eastern Missouri deputies have killed a man after he fatally wounded his estranged wife in the parking lot of the nursing home where she worked.
Capt. Ralph Brown of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto around 2 p.m. after receiving a report that shots had been fired.
Deputies watched the man shove the woman into the pavement and force her into a car. When she broke free, the man shot her in the back.
Deputies then fired on the man, killing him. The woman was flown to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The victims were identified only as a 70-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. Brown said that the couple had separated and that he had been served days earlier with an order of protection.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
