St. Louis, MO: Former boyfriend charged in Charlack woman's stabbing death

CHARLACK • A St. Louis man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his former girlfriend, whose body was found over the weekend in her Charlack apartment.
Antonio Bell, 33, of the 5100 block of Page Boulevard was charged Monday with second-degree murder in the death of Tarria Pointer, 22. Pointer lived alone in an apartment in the 2500 block of La Caracas Place in Charlack.
Family members found Pointer stabbed to death Saturday evening in her apartment. Police say she had been dead for about a day and half. The murder took place sometime on or about May 25, according to court documents.
Bell, who used to date Pointer, was also charged with armed criminal action and stealing a motor vehicle. Police say he stole her 2007 red Pontiac Grand Prix, according to court documents. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 cash-only bail.
Bell made "incriminating statements" to police, according to court documents.
Lt. Michael Thompson, deputy commander of the Major Case Squad, said Bell had a previous conviction for burglary.
About 14 detectives from various police agencies helped investigate the slaying for the Major Case Squad. Thompson said the case squad was activated late Saturday night and had Bell in custody within about 20 hours.
