Riverside, CA: Riverside domestic dispute ends with officer fatally shooting man

RIVERSIDE - Riverside police responding to report of a domestic dispute fatally shot a man in a fight that ensued.

David Ledezma, 52, of Riverside, was shot an undisclosed number of times in an unspecified confrontation in the 10700 block of Cypress Avenue occurred about 4:10 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Whoever called police pointed out the man as officers arrived.

"The officers contacted the suspect and a confrontation occurred, which resulted in an officer-involved shooting," police stated. "The suspect sustained several gunshot Advertisement

Ledezma was declared dead at a hospital. Police did not say if more than one officer fired on Ledezma.

Police did not say what what prompted the person who called for help to do so, or what he or she might have told emergency dispatchers. An officer may have suffered some minor injury in confrontation that preceded the killing.
