McALESTER — The double shooting that took place in McAlester last week has been determined to be a murder-suicide.
“Evidence analyzed and collected at the scene by MPD (McAlester Police Department) and OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau) points to the conclusion that this is a murder-suicide,” said McAlester Det. Capt. Gary Wansick.
The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office has also determined that this was a murder-suicide.
On Dec. 29, Bonifacio Perez, 31, and Elizabeth Lacy, 31, were found deceased in their home on West Taylor Avenue with apparent gunshot wounds, said McAlester Assistant Police Chief Darrell Miller.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Perez’s cause of death is a “gunshot wound of the head” and his manner of death is “homicide.” The medical examiner ruled that Lacy’s cause of death is a “perforating intraoral gunshot would of the head” and her manner of death is “suicide.”
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
