FORT MILL, SC -- A Fort Mill woman is dead after police say she was shot and killed in her SUV. According to Captain Bryan Zachary, shortly after 8 a.m. police were called to the Avery Lake Apartments in regards to a domestic dispute.
Shortly after arrival, authorities located Jackie Lashon Craine, 34, on Starnes Pointe Court in Fort Mill, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to Peidmont Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
The victim's 16 year old son was also present in the victim's vehicle, at the time of the incident, and sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. Officers patrolling found a suspect near a wooded area near Jeruselum Baptist Church.
The suspect has been identified as James Enrico Diago, 38, of Forest Ridge Drive. He currently is in custody. Police say this was not a random act of violence and that the suspect and victim had a prior relationship.
Diago has been charged with murder and attempted murder. We'll have more on this developing story on FOX News @ Ten.
