A 22-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend and wounding another man late Sunday in Tacoma was later found dead, police said Monday. Officers found the dead man at Larchmont Elementary School, 8601 E. B St., about 4:45 a.m. Monday, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. His name was not released. He had died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators believe the man shot his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend and wounded a second man, 29, about 11:40 p.m. Sunday. The woman’s brother told KIRO-TV that his sister had broken up with the 22-year-old man about a month ago and that he had been stalking her since. She had gone to her sister’s home in the 8400 block of East D Street, and was shot to death while she slept on a sofa, her brother said. The second sister’s boyfriend was the man wounded at the house, the brother said. The injured man called emergency dispatchers and reported he’d been shot. When officers arrived, they found him bleeding from 11 gunshot wounds and the woman dead from a gunshot wound, police reported. The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma and was expected to survive his wounds, Fulghum said. The gunman left the home on foot. He was found five hours later outside Larchmont Elementary, Fulghum said.
