Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating the death of a woman found in her home on the east side Tuesday morning.
Police received a 911 call about a person down in the 9700 block of East 38th Street around 10:00 a.m. Officers arrived to find a woman dead inside the home.
Investigators are releasing very little information about the case and are still calling it a death investigation. Several friends and family members tell FOX59 they believe the woman's husband killed her, though.
The names of the woman and her husband have not been publicly released.
FOX59 has confirmed with Marion County courts that the woman filed a protective order against her husband Monday. In the order, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence and feared that her husband would hurt her again.
Family friends told FOX59 they were worried that the woman's husband would try to kill her.
Police said they are waiting on the Coroner to release the woman's name and information on how she died. Since the case is classified as a death investigation, police aren't saying anything about any potential suspects.
Family members said they are concerned because they believe the woman's husband is still on the loose.
This story will be updated as new details emerge.
