The suspect in the fatal shooting of his wife Monday in Fairway threatened to kill her previously, according to Oklahoma court records.
Betty Grammer, who died late Monday from a gunshot wound to the head, petitioned for a protective order last month against her husband, Franklin L. Grammer Jr. She wrote that her husband choked her, beat her head on the floor and threatened to kill her and burn her clothing.
“He told me when he gets home I’m going to have hell to pay,” she wrote. A judge inMcCurtain County dismissed the petition on June 2 after Betty Grammer did not appear for a court hearing.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Grammer, 53, who was last known to be driving a blue 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup with Oklahoma license 522-MTH and ladder racks.
“No arrest warrant has been issued for him,” said Lt. Mike Fleming with the FairwayPolice Department.
Police arrived at the scene in the 6200 block of Glenfield Drive about 10:30 a.m. Monday and found Betty Grammer shot, they said.
