Indiana State Police today arrested a man in the strangling death of a 34-year-old woman in Sullivan County.
Gregory L. Hale, 34, faces a murder charge in the death of Jennifer Peak, Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Joe Watts said in a statement.
Hale was taken into custody at Greene County General Hospital and was held without bond at the Sullivan County Jail, Watts said.
Police found Peak’s body in the bedroom of a mobile home in the 1800 block of East County Road 500 South at about 1 a.m., Watts said.
A small fire was burning and the mobile home was filled with smoke when police arrived, Watts said.
Preliminary results of an autopsy today determined that Peak had been strangled to death, Watts said.
