SALEM — Fulton County Sheriff Buck Foley identified a woman found dead Sunday in rural Fulton County as 23-year-old Leah Burch.
Sheriff's deputies and Salem police responding to a shooting call at 1421 Magnolia Drive on Sunday found Burch dead with a gunshot wound, according to Foley.
Foley said investigators learned Burch and her boyfriend had been drinking and arguing prior to Burch being discovered dead.
The name of Burch's boyfriend will not be released until the report from the state medical examiner comes back and reveals the manner of Burch's death, Foley said. Burch was shot at least once in the head with a .38-caliber pistol, Foley said. All rounds in the pistol had been fired, according to Foley, who said investigators were told the couple had been target shooting earlier in the day.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
