PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a Providence man on first-degree murder and theft charges accusing him of beating his wife to death and using her debit card afterward.
The Providence County grand jury indicted 45-year-old Constantino Nardolillo on Monday in connection with the killing of his wife, Anne Marie, in January 2010. He has been detained since his arrest a few days after the woman's bloody body was found in their West End apartment.
Police say they caught Nardolillo after tracking the use of his wife's debit card around the Providence area. Authorities say he also stole a car in Warwick and used a credit card found in the vehicle.
Nardolillo is to be arraigned in Providence Superior Court on Sept. 14.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
