A woman was stabbed to death and a man was wounded in what police believe was a domestic dispute in the couple's Danbury apartment.
Natalie Ramirez, 23, was stabbed multiple times on Monday night in a third-floor apartment on Duck Street and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Arturo Dota, 31, was taken to a hospital to be treated for a stab wound.
Police said Ramirez and Dota were in a relationship and Ramirez’s children were in the home when the stabbing happened. It is not clear if Dota is the children’s father.
Police took the children from the home and they are with family members who live in the area, police said.
Police are trying to determine exactly what happened. Neighbors said the couple fought often.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
