A man shot and killed his former girlfriend in her Oswego home, then turned the shotgun on himself, police say.
Officers were called to the home on Fox Chase Drive around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after someone reported hearing shots and a woman screaming, according to Oswego Detective Rob Sherwood.
Police found Daniel R. Kiefer, 39, of Montgomery, in an attached garage, he said. Brandi Jo Murphy, 38, was found in a doorway leading from the garage into the home. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Three other adults and three children were in the home at the time, but no one else was injured, Sherwood said. Two of the children were Murphy's.
Sherwood said Kiefer and Murphy had an "on-again, off-again relationship" with a history of domestic violence.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
